About Recurso:
Recurso is a non-profit student organization that works to provide direct, sustainable aid to communities in developing nations, and to promote primary education, quality healthcare, and community-specific knowledge.
We hope that through heightened local awareness, and events and service projects, the specific circumstances of the people in these countries will be improved. Within the local community of Gainesville and on campus, we strive to educate the public about international poverty issues, the importance of being a universal citizen, and the value of community service.
About the Director Positions:
For the Spring Semester of 2010, we plan on accepting 5 to 6 directors for poverty-related campaigns, who will passionately work towards heightening awareness of issues surrounding global poverty. Each of the directors will be expected to have a desire to learn more about their international issue and plan campus events that will focus on service and awareness. Each director will also be expected to assist the other directors on the E-Board since the sharing of tasks is critical in having a successul event. The directors will be given ownership of their issue and approach but should form committees of volunteers to help with technical and logistical aspects. Each of the given issues was chosen because of its link to the central theme of poverty in developing nations. The following director positions are available:
-Famine Relief Director
-Children’s Issues and Rights Director
-Genocide and Human Rights Director
-Water and Sanitation Director
-Health Disparity
-Secretary
